Scholarships and Bursaries

Our chapter offers a bursary to deserving students who are new to StFX: the Leone Campbell Memorial Bursary. As well, we also have information about the prestigious Dr. Ed O'Connor Entrance Scholarship.

The Leone Campbell Memorial Bursary

The Calgary chapter offers a bursary for a deserving first-year student attending StFX University. The bursary is named for Leone Campbell, an outstanding StFX alumna who was inducted in the StFX Hall of Honour in 1999.

Leone dedicated her life to helping people. She was a counsellor with the Calgary Separate School District where she was a driving force in introducing western students to StFX University. She also worked with young people and groups concerned with mental health issues, grief support for children through the Community in Crisis program, suicide prevention workshops and sexual abuse awareness. The energy Leone brought to each of her activities was truly an inspiration. She died in 2009.

The Calgary chapter is proud to offer a bursary in her honour. For more information or to donate to Leone Campbell Memorial Bursary, email the Calgary chapter executive: calgarychapter@stfx.ca. Applications are available annually beginning at the Student Send-off.

Thanks for applying! Good luck!
